Dry needling
What is physiotherapy puncture with dry needle?
This approach consists in the insertion of a very fine, single-use sterile needle. Sometimes synonyms such as dry needles under the dermis (UASD) or dry needling can be used.
Who can do this approach?
Physiotherapists who have completed over 100 hours of additional training following their university graduation. A certification, issued by the OPPQ, attests their expertise in using this approach.
How does it work?
The insertion of the needle allows to work different aspects within the field of practice of the physiotherapist:

The use of the needle leads to neurophysiological changes. This approach is part of a treatment plan combined with other modalities used in physiotherapy (exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapeutic modalities).
